What happens to be bowl if it is left outside?
Each bowl is finished with wax when it arrives. This will burn off, and over time, the surface will oxidise giving the surface a lovely character. The bowl can be painted annually with a product called Owatrol - to preserve the original look. The bowl is best covered if it is going to be left outside for long periods not used. Some customers have made wooden tops so the bowl can also be used as a drinks table.
Do you make high stands?
We only make low stands. We feel the best position for a fire bowl is low down where the fire can be seen when seated and the warmth felt.
How do I store the fire bowl?
We suggest that it is store undercover over the winter / when not used for a few weeks. We do sell covers so that the fire pit can be left out side and the ash kept dry for the next lighting.
Can I paint the fire bowl?
Most leave the fire bowl to naturally oxidise. However, we have customers who have painted the bowl with a heatproof paint or Owatrol protective paint.
How and where are they made?
Our bowl sets are hand made by a small artisan family business in Rajasthan, North India. They are made from recycled materials (steel panels) which are beaten into shape then riveted together forming the beautiful shape. The high quality products we sell are shipped by sea to the UK.
Can I collect from you?
