The making of the Kadai Fire Bowl
Our fire bowls sets are made by a small family business in North India. We have worked together for the past 6 years. Each bowl is hand made by metal craftsmen.
The design is based upon the Indian Kadai bowl used for ceremonies and for cooking street food.
Steel sheets are hammered in to shape before they are individually riveted together to form the bowl shape. Then wrought iron is used to make the bowl rim and the stand. Thick bars are then welded to form the heavy duty grill. When the items are finished they are heated and a wax finish applied.
